‘CLEAR’ Campaign Launched
Dubai | The ‘CLEAR’ (Community Learning on Alcohol Risks) campaign—a community-based health awareness initiative jointly implemented by the Association of Kerala Medical and Dental Graduates (AKMG) Emirates and the Indian Consulate in Dubai—has been launched. The project’s primary objective is to reduce the harmful use of alcohol among demographics such as low-income workers and to support them in leading healthier lives.
Indian Consul General Dr. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy inaugurated the project at a ceremony presided over by AKMG Emirates President Dr. Sugu Malayil Koshy. Dr. Nitha Salam, Dr. Firoz Gafoor, Dr. Pankajam Indrajith, Dr. Nirmala Raghunathan, and Dr. Naeem Moideen addressed the gathering. Doctors including Jamaluddin Aboobacker, Arif Kandoth, Fathima Fayas, and Sreekumar Nair were present at the event.
The Consul General commended Dr. Archana Nair, Dr. Mini John Panampally, Dr. Vineeth Zachariah, Dr. Sabina Ali, Dr. Elizabeth Kurian, Dr. Sonia Sasidharan, Dr. Prema Abraham, and Fathima Fayas for their active leadership in the ongoing summer health awareness activities. The Consul General commended AKMG’s community-oriented initiatives and assured the Consulate’s support and cooperation for such health and social activities. Subsequently, a cultural evening titled “Senthamizh Sandhya,” featuring performances by doctors and their family members, was organized.
The organizers announced that AKMG doctors, in collaboration with healthcare workers and social organizations, would conduct awareness programs at various labor camps regarding the health and social hazards of alcohol consumption.
