AKMG Emirates Beat the Heat Awareness Campaign
Dubai l The Association of Kerala Medical & Dental Graduates (AKMG Emirates) in collaboration with the Indian Consulate, conducted a summer social service activity called “Beat the Heat” heat stroke awareness campaign in Dubai and Sharjah.
As part of women empowerment, Sachi Jain, Vice Consul of the Indian Consulate, participated in the “Beat the Heat” health awareness campaign held at the Gems Ladies Camp in Sonapur on August 2.
AKMG Emirates President Dr. Sugu Malayil Koshy inaugurated the event. Dr. Archana Nair led the awareness classes. AKMG Regional Chair Dr. Nita Salam expressed the vote of thanks.
Doctors Firoz Ghafoor, Jamaluddin Abubakar, Sajida Ashraf, Pankajam Indrajith, Naeem Moideen, Shameena Subaida and others led the camp.
Doctors Sabina Ali, Sajita Prasad, Joe Joseph, Shaju Philip, Jwala Thomas, Sajita Ashraf, Ali Akbar and others led the “Beat the Heat” and CPR awareness classes held at the Sharjah Khan Sahib Camp.
The main objectives of the campaign are to raise awareness about heat-related illnesses including heat stroke among workers working in open areas during the scorching summer, disseminate ways to prevent them, promote safe working conditions, and provide awareness about life-saving measures such as CPR in emergency situations. These activities will continue in various labor camps and workplaces in the UAE in the coming weeks.
UAE Organizers said the campaign also aims to show solidarity with the government’s “Year of the Community” and “Year of the Family” initiatives.
